This cafe dates from the 1920’s, but the luxurious interior actually makes it seen even older. They have kept the key features of its time, with huge mirrored cabinets, stained glass, chandeliers and art nouveau touches make up the interior, giving the feel of a classic European café. It serves a large variety of pastries, and is also a restaurant, with a separate section serving traditional Portuguese dishes. Next time you are in Lisbon, take the Metro to Saldanha station, then take the Avendida da Republica exit and you will be just steps from Pastelaria Versailles.
